Where are you based?
I’m based on the edge of the mighty Yorkshire Dales. Pretty much bang on in the centre of the UK. Ilkley, West Yorkshire is my base, but my ‘office’ is anywhere my camera will take me.

Where's your favourite place to ride?
That’s a tough one. I’ve been lucky enough to ride in some amazing places over the World. Every place I’ve ridden over seas has been amazing, for different reasons, be it beautiful stretches of Alpine single- track or simply great company to ride with. That said, I always come back from these places and still love turning my wheels over our pretty modest moorlands and heading up stream a little bit into the Lakes. Traveling is amazing, and riding abroad really opens your eyes, but home trails will always be there for you. Come rain, or shine, but mostly rain.

What type of riding do you like to do the most?
I ride mostly off-road and generally big days out getting as much descent in as possible. The descents is where the fun is for me, the climbs are just part of the job. I’ve recently started dabbling in the dark side too (road), which much to my surprise, I really enjoy. It’s a different mentality to riding off road and nothing scares me as much as descending flat out on a road bike with carbon wheels. But it’s nice to have a switch up every once in a while. Just to clarify... My leg hairs are staying, for good.

How do you discover a new route? Do you plan ahead with maps or just see where the road takes you?
Maps, Google Earth and usually a bit of local knowledge work best for me. Google Earth is an amazing tool when paired with a map. My sense of direction is pretty poor though, so usually going where the road takes me is what happens and usually it’s totally unintentional.

What equipment do you use to capture your ride?
It all depends on the day and what I’m shooting for. If I’m shooting for a client, I’ll usually pack my big Lowepro Flipside Sport bag, which consists of two Nikon bodies and a hefty selection of glass. For personal projects then it’s either a much lighter set up using the above or I switch to shooting with my Fuji XT1 & 35mm lens or simply just my iphone, which is great fun to shoot with.

What destination would be on your riding wish list?
Ooo, too many to list but Iceland and Kazakhstan are places that I keep popping up into my head. That’s if I don’t get lost trying to get there.
